This Privacy Policy explains how Kinetik ("we", "us", "our") handles your information. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Kinetik is for people aged 18 and over.
What we collect
- Account: the name and email address shared by Sign in with Apple or Google. With Apple's "Hide My Email", we receive a relay address only.
- Profile: display name, handle, date of birth (to confirm you are 18+; never shown — only your age is), gender, height, weight, bio, profile photo, fitness goals, experience, schedule and equipment.
- Workout data: for each session, the exercise, start/end time, and a per-rep log of timing, joint-angle depth and detection confidence. Camera video is processed on your device and is never uploaded or stored.
- Approximate location (only if you allow it): rounded to about 1 km before it reaches our servers, plus a city name. Other users only ever see an approximate distance (e.g. "2.5 km away"), never your location.
- Social activity: connections, messages, challenges, reports and blocks.
- Device data: push-notification token, app version, platform, time zone, last-active time.
How we use it
- To count and verify reps, run challenges, XP, streaks and leagues.
- To suggest compatible people in Find Your People, based on verified activity, goals, schedule and approximate distance.
- To deliver messages and notifications you've enabled.
- To keep the community safe: automated profile-photo screening, anti-cheat checks on workout data, and review of reports.
- To operate, secure and improve the service.
We do not sell your personal data and do not use it for third-party advertising.

What others can see
Depending on your privacy settings: display name, handle, age, photo (after approval), city, bio, level, league, streak, verified totals, goals and what you're looking for. Height and weight are hidden unless you turn on "Show height & weight". You can hide yourself from Find Your People or set your profile to Connections-only or Private at any time.
Retention and deletion
You can delete your account in Settings → Delete account. Your profile is hidden immediately; all personal data (profile, photo, workouts, messages, connections) is permanently deleted within 30 days. Reports you filed about others may be retained in anonymised form for safety records.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the EU/UK GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your data and to withdraw consent. To exercise them, or to raise a grievance, email dartboardt@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days.
International transfers
Your information is processed and stored in the countries listed above, which may differ from your own and have different data-protection laws. By using Kinetik you consent to these transfers.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS). Database access is restricted to our API; direct client access is denied by row-level security.
Children
Kinetik is not intended for anyone under 18. We remove accounts we learn belong to minors.
Changes
We'll notify you in the app of material changes.
